Since 1998, CIR food has obtained certificates of qualification for the storage and distribution of organically farmed products which certify its organic food production.
The experience started at the meal production center (8000 meals a day) located in Via Malavolti (Modena), and then it extended to the meal production center in St. Mary of Licodia (Roma), to the kitchen preparing meals for the schools in Guiglia (Modena), to the cooking center in Cresole di Caldogno (Vicenza), to the cooking center in Apuano Avenza (Massa), and lastly to the kitchen preparing meals for the schools in Montelupone (Macerata). This has allowed CIR food to obtain from the certifying commission of the Consorzio per il Controllo dei Prodotti Biologici (CCPB or Consortium for the Control of Organic Products) admission to the system, run by the consortium itself, monitoring the storage and distribution of organic products.
The certificates allow CIR food to offer to the consumers the additional guarantee of transparency and consistency which is what it aims to promote, and to back its support for an effective and proper use of organic food with a Third Party’s certification, which is also recognized by SINCERT (Italian National System for Accreditation of Certification which is the highest body for the Monitoring of Certifying Agencies in Italy).
The Consortium (CCPB) operates throughout the country to certify kitchens that engage in similar activities.
