The Labor Day holiday is based on values shared by CIR food. Cir food has become a job producing cooperative at the end of the year 2004, and it is increasingly committed to value and protect its 7,500 workers, many of whom are also members of the cooperative.
CIR food has therefore accepted to become a sponsor for the concert/rally organized by the Cgil, Cisl, and Uil unions, and to bring to Piazza San Giovanni the experience and culture of a modern restaurant industry.
Since 2004 CIR has provided food services during this very long free concert. At the event it has offered traditional Roman dishes such as porchetta, fava beans and pecorino cheese. It has brought in from Reggio Emilia two trucks of traditional Emilian products such as: Lambrusco wine, Prosecco wine, salami, prosciutto, mortadella, erbazzone and wheels of Parmesan cheese.
The performers and musicians appearing at the event not only take turns on the stage, but they also walk among the tables in the two large dining areas set up with buffets in the 5,000 square meters section used for the hospitality and backstage. There is also a special catering service set up near the artists’ trailers, to satisfy any of their food requests.
The committee organizing the May 1st festivities has conveyed appreciation and praise for the organization and services that CIR food, and in particular the colleagues in Rome, provide every year.
