In the United States, CIR food, together with the company La Prima Food Group, has started an important project called School Nutrition Program for a Healthier Generation® that provides food services to schools. The project is one f the initiatives aimed at fighting childhood obesity and it’s supported by the scientific community, mostly through collaboration with the prestigious universities of Yale and Johns Hopkins University. This project provides for thousands of daily lunches inspired by the Mediterranean diet to be served in schools in Washington DC, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia. In Washington, CIR food also manages RITA Café and Restaurant, which operates as a coffee shop and restaurant near major Corporations and Business centers.
In New York, CIR food has stakes in two Manhattan restaurants: La BOTTEGA DEL VINO NYC, located on 5th Avenue, and at the moment one of the most renowned restaurant of the “Big Apple”, where CIR food contributes know-how for several specialty products marketed with the brand name “Rita Bakery”; and COLORS, the first restaurant opened by formal employees of Windows on the World, the restaurant that was located at the top of one of the two World Trade Center towers, which offers a high end cuisine and it is located at 417 Lafayette Street in Lower Manhattan.
